After being asked to follow on, the hosts batted out the final day with composure to reach 537-7 before handshakes were exchanged.
Warwickshire Command the First Half
Warwickshire seized control early in the match, posting a formidable first-innings total of 459. The visitors’ charge was bolstered by a vital ninth-wicket stand of 119 between Ed Barnard (165) and Michael Booth (70). For Notts, Josh Tongue was the standout with the ball, claiming 5-124, but the total left the home side under significant pressure.

In response, Nottinghamshire struggled to find their rhythm in their first innings. Despite a gritty 94 from Joe Clarke and 62 from Ben Duckett, the defending champions were bundled out for 279. Michael Booth translated his batting form to the ball, taking 4-71, as Notts fell 180 runs short of the total, prompting the follow-on.

The Great Escape
The second innings told a different story. Facing a massive deficit, the Nottinghamshire top order dug in. Haseeb Hameed (115) and Ben Duckett (93) laid a solid foundation, but the final day belonged to the duo of Clarke and Verreynne.
• The Fifth-Wicket Stand: Clarke and Verreynne batted through the entire final morning session without losing a wicket, adding 180 runs together.

• Verreynne’s Masterclass: The South African wicketkeeper-batter, often a hero for Notts at Trent Bridge, ground out a "gritty" 115 off 243 balls. His century, punctuated by eight fours, anchored the innings and demoralized the Warwickshire attack.
• The Finish: Though Rob Yates eventually removed Clarke for 82 and Beau Webster (2-55) dismissed Verreynne late in the day, the damage was done. Lyndon James (33*) and Brett Hutton saw the hosts safely to the 4:50 PM deadline.
